The CAMSS30 Shelter System is the official United States Air Force Medium Shelter System. Known throughout the US Air Force as the California Medium Shelter System, it is a multi-purpose shelter that provides over 1500 sq. ft. of clear-span floor space. It is a highly portable, all-weather shelter system for rapid worldwide deployment. The CAMSS30 is NSN listed and is used by all branches of the US Armed Forces.
Everything In One Container
The CAMSS30 is a complete shelter system, which includes the shelter, lighting, outlets, distribution panel, flooring, HVAC ports, extreme temperature and high humidity kit, personnel doors, vehicle doors, spares kit, erection tools, technical manual and composite container. Just open the container and you have everything you need to erect and maintain this shelter system. The CAMSS30 is a highly portable shelter system.
Versatile Applications
Measuring 29'6" wide by 52' long by 15' high, the CAMSS30 provides a large, comfortable, bright, open area suitable for command centers, communication facilities, billeting, recreation, centers, kitchens, dining halls, commissaries, hospital wards, maintenance shops, and warehousing.
Rapid Deployment
Six personnel can erect the CAMSS30 Shelter in less than 4 hours and no tools, other than those provided, are needed to assemble the shelter. Color-coding, interchangeable parts, and a logical assembly sequence makes the CAMSS30 easy to erect. A verified technical manual with illustrations is provided.
From Southwest Asia to the Arctic Circle
Extensive field use and high wind tests at Aberdeen Proving Grounds confirm the CAMSS30 Shelter System's performance in extreme climates. Additionally, during extreme weather testing at the McKinley Climatic Laboratory, the CAMSS30 maintained a comfortable room temperature with outside temperatures of -55 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit. The CAMSS30's proven performance in extreme heat and cold and high winds and snow make it a versatile, all-weather shelter system that is ready for worldwide deployment.
All In A Rugged Compact Container
The packed CAMSS30 fits in its own reusable, weather-tight, composite shipping and storage container, which measures just 82' wide by 96' long by 47' high. The container, pictured above inside the shelter, is forkliftable and stackable. Its design makes it easy to pack every time
Highly Portable
The CAMSS30 is compact and lightweight, making it suitable and easy to transport by truck, ship, or aircraft. Two of these shelters, packed into the Medium Composite Container, will fit on a 463L pallet for air shipment.
