The CAMSS20EX is a multi-purpose, all-weather, military shelter system designed for rapid worldwide deployment. It has the same footprint as the TEMPER, but has more useable floor space because of its straight sidewall design. This makes it an excellent replacement shelter for the TEMPER.
Rapid Deployment and Quick Setup
The CAMSS20EX can be fully assembled in less than 30 minutes by a trained crew of four personnel and no ladder is required. Installing all frame, liners, lights, and outlets from the ground creates a safe setup environment while saving time. All tools required for setup are provided with the fabric shelter.
Rugged Shelter
Designed for use throughout the world, the CAMSS20EX is ruggedized with high strength aluminum and Mil-Spec fabric. Measuring 20' wide by 32' long and 7' at the eave, this portable shelter is perfect for a variety of applications, to include billeting, hospitals, kitchens, dining facilities, offices, maintenance shops, and storage.
Numerous Features
Equipped with twelve windows, the CAMSS20EX allows for natural lighting. Two doors are included, one double zipper door and one hard personnel door. The quick connect electrical system includes six lights and six duplex outlets with a heavy-duty distribution panel. Also included are the Extreme Weather Kit, High Wind Kit, Anchoring Kit, Flooring, and Spares/Repair Kit. Optional side entrances and hard floors are also available.
Extreme Environments
The CAMSS20EX will support a 20-pound snow load and will withstand a 100 mph wind load. Our unique design, combined with quality materials and a state of the art manufacturing process, provides a lightweight, portable shelter for use in extreme conditions.
Climate Controlled
The Extreme Weather Kit includes a ruggedized liner system that creates an attic space for efficient and effective insulation. The drum-tight fit of the cover assists in controlling the internal environment from extreme ambient temperatures of -55 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit with a full solar load.
Efficient Airflow
The CAMSS20EX is equipped with a spot cooling plenum for easy control of airflow. The quick connect plenum installs at the center of the shelter, out of the way of everyday activities. The CAMSS20EX is compatible with multiple environmental control units.
Compact Transportation
Using only 60 cubic feet of space when packed, the 640 square foot system allows for deployments using military trucks, ships, or aircraft. Six CAMSS20 Expeditionary Shelters may be shipped on one 463L pallet.
CAMSS20EX Features/Options
The CAMSS20EX has many standard features, such as a double zipper door, a hard personnel door, twelve windows, a one piece fabric floor, and an electrical kit, just to name a few; however, there are other options available to make the shelter fit the users' requirements. Each of the standard features can either be eliminated or replaced with another option. The vertical sidewall design and high eaves allow side entrances, to include double zipper doors, single hard doors, or double hard doors, to be installed without removing any structural members. This enables other shelters to be easily complexed side to side or end to side with the CAMSS20EX.
CAMSS20EX Military Shelters Packed for Shipment
CAMSS20EX Shelters can either be packed in a standard forkliftable wood container or in an optional, weather-tight, forkliftable, composite container. One complete 20' wide by 32' long shelter system or two 20' wide by 16' long shelter systems will fit in each container. Six of these containers will fit on one 463L pallet for air shipment.
Office/Operation Center
The vertical sidewall and tight white liner make the CAMSS20EX portable shelter a spacious and bright choice for administrative or operations center activities. Tables and chairs can be placed close to the base frame of the shelter, which provides more useable floor space for personnel. Bulletin boards and charts hung from the shelter's 7' high eaves purlin hang within inches of the sidewall.
Kitchen/Dining Shelter
There is no question that the vertical sidewall of the CAMSS20EX makes it the perfect choice for kitchens and dining halls. Every inch of workspace counts when the experts are trying to put together a meal for the troops and the closer the food preparation equipment and supplies can be placed to the sidewall base frame, the more useable workspace is provided for personnel. The same thing is true for the dining hall. The CAMSS20EX provides a wide open, spacious area for personnel to gather for meals and camaraderie. Special kitchen/dining options available, such as double-bump-through door and 12' wide hallways.
Billeting Shelter
The standard CAMSS20EX Shelter measures 20' wide by 32' long and is the same footprint as the TEMPER. This makes it a great replacement for TEMPERs that are currently being used as billeting tents. Some of the benefits of changing to the CAMSS20EX Shelter are that the CAMSS20EX fabric structure has a drum-tight cover (which eliminates wind noise from floppy fabric), a single piece upper liner with attic vents (which acts as an inner fly), and full circle cutout vents in the plenum (which eliminate unnecessary noise during HVAC operations). The vertical sidewalls and tight liner enable cots to be placed close to the sidewall base frame, creating more useable floor space for personnel.
Storage Shelter
The tall, vertical sidewall of the CAMSS20EX makes it a logical choice for materiel storage. Shelving and pallets of supplies can be placed near the sidewall base frame, allowing more room to maneuver and perform warehouse operations. An optional aluminum frame swing door or roll-up vehicle door can provide a large entrance for forklifting pallets of materiel into and out of the shelter.
Medical Shelter
The standard features, and options that are available, on the CAMSS20EX Shelter make it the best choice for quick deployable hospitals and medical facilities. The vertical sidewalls allow beds to be placed close to the sidewall base frame, even with an IV pole attached. The white vinyl liner provides a bright atmosphere and can be easily cleaned and sanitized to meet hospital standards. The plenum is attached directly to the upper liner during use, but lies flat when removed for cleaning purposes. The CAMSS20EX can be connected directly end to end with another shelter to create a longer shelter, or it can be connected end to end, side to side, or end to side using corridors. This flexibility in portable shelter complexing is useful when creating hospital wards and medical facilities.
