Complete Portable Shelter System
The CAMSS18EX is a complete portable shelter system that measures 18' wide by 32' long by 10' high. The frame, cover, lights, outlets, liner, and plenum are included and assemble in a logical sequence, making it quick and easy to set up. Four personnel can assemble the CAMSS18EX in less than 20 minutes using the ladder and tools provided.
Extreme Environments
The CAMSS18EX Expeditionary Shelter is an engineered system designed for rigorous environments. The extreme weather kit meets temperatures from -55 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit with a full solar load. The liner creates an 18" attic space and vents in the end panels allow a natural flow of air. The high strength aluminum frame and ruggedized fabric allow for repeated erection/strike cycles with little fatigue and wear.
Complexing
A cover connector flap allows multiple CAMSS18EX Shelters to be connected end to end to create a longer shelter. If the connector flap is not needed, it can be folded underneath the cover during assembly. The straight sidewall design allows for doors with corridor connector flaps to be install in the sides of the shelter. This enables the shelter to be complexed, from any side, to other CAMSS Shelters or to TEMPER Tents using corridors.
Optional Composite Container
The CAMSS Small Composite Container is available for storing and shipping CAMSS18EX Shelters. This lightweight, weather-tight container, measuring 44" wide x 102" long x 32" high, is stackable and forkliftable. A complete CAMSS18EX, with set up tools, will fit in a container and six containers will fit on one 463L pallet for air shipment.
Multi-purpose System
The straight sidewalls make the CAMSS18EX Expeditionary Shelter a great choice for communication centers, command posts, showers, and billeting. Its vertical walls with 7' eaves allow plenty of room for equipment and furniture to be placed within inches of the base frame, enabling this small shelter system to provide more useable space than larger round shape shelters or slanted side wall shelters such as the TEMPER Tent.
Extremely Portable Shelter
The CAMSS18EX Expeditionary Shelter packs into bags or containers for easy transport by truck, ship, or aircraft. The aluminum frame nests together to make packing and shipping easy. The complete 32' long CAMSS18EX Expeditionary Shelter System fits in 53 cubic feet.
HVAC Ready
The CAMSS18EX is equipped with a set of 18" HVAC ports on each end that are compatible with standard Mil-Spec ducts. An airsock attaches to the supply side of the HVAC port and the pre-attached plenum distributes heated or cooled air evenly throughout the shelter. A pass-through port allows electrical lines or hoses to be installed through the cover without compromising the integrity of the shelter.
A cover connector flap allows multiple CAMSS18EXs to be connected end to end, as shown in this photo. It may have optional side doors installed and is available in green.
The vertical sidewall and bright interior of the CAMSS18EX makes it a great choice for briefing rooms, command posts, and operation centers.
